What are you doing now?

Let's revise! 
Давайте пригадаємо як ми розповідаємо про події які відбуваються в даний момент. 😉
Для цього нам допоможе яблучко. Розподілимо його уявно на 2 половинки. В першій половинці знаходиться Король англійської мови "to be", який має трьох доньок-принцес am, is, are, а в другій половинці знаходиться дієслово, до якого додається закінчення -ing.



Кожна принцеса має своїх друзів:
Принцеса am дружить з I.
Принцеса is дружить з he/she/it.
Принцеса are дружить з we/you/they.

Для того, щоб розпізнати в якому часі відбувається дія, на допомогу нам приходять маячки часу:

now/ at the moment/ at present/ Look!

For example: 

I am reading a book now.

Для того, щоб утворити запитання, потрібно поставити допоміжне дієслово (принцесу) AM/IS/ARE на початок речення.

For example:
Am I reading a book?
Are the boys running?
Is the man riding a motorbike?

Якщо запитання містить запитальне слово, am/is/are стає на друге місце. 
What? (що?)
When? (коли?)
Where? (де?)
Why? (чому?)
How? (як?)

For example:
What is she doing?
Where is he going?
Why are you crying?
How are you doing?

Task 2. Look through the words and find them in the text. Then highlight them with your highlighter. Try to remember them. (Знайди наступні слова в пісні та виділи їх маркером. Спробуй запам’ятати їх).

Present Continuous

Теперішній тривалий час

Виражає дію, яка відбувається в даний момент.

Утворюється за допомогою допоміжного дієслова – to be (am, is, are) і дієслова з закінченням -ing.

I am

Children

riding a motorbike.

Jane

driving a car.

I am riding a horse.

Маячки часу:

now – зараз

at the moment – в даний момент

at present – наразі

Look! – Подивись!

Example:
+ I am reading a book now.

? Am I reading a book now?

- No, I am not reading a book now.

При додаванні закінчення -ing важливо знати наступне:

Якщо дієслово закінчується на невимовне (німе) –е, то воно зникає:

to give – giving

to drive – driving

В односкладових словах, які закінчуються на одну приголосну літеру, приголосна подвоюється:

to stop – stopping

to sit – sitting

to get – getting (отримувати)

Якщо дієслово закінчується на – l, перед яким стоїть голосний, – l подвоюється (в американському варіанті це правило не завжди дотримується).

to fulfil – fulfilling (здійснювати, заповняти)

to travel – travelling (подорожувати)

Якщо дієслово закінчується на –iе, то –iе змінюється на –у:

to die – dying 

to lie – lying
